Custom designed to accompany art deco furniture, this quilt was inspired by a beautiful stained glass window languishing unnoticed on a dingy back street near the corner of René Lévesque and University in Montréal. Featuring Bali batiks and hand-dyed fabrics for extra depth and texture. The other side of this reversible bed quilt features “negative” blocks from the front set on a field of classic white linen. The inset strip of red and gold fabrics curving across each panel reminded me of dunes, so I grandly named this piece after the polar dune field on Mars.
